Munich, Germany!

Germany was really really pretty, but much different than Belfast and Galway.  Munich is a huge city but is wicked organized, and wicked clean.  There were constantly people and street sweepers cleaning, and picking up any trash.  I almost felt like I was in some Amish country-type city, because everything was so perfectly aligned. Streets were wide, sidewalks had biking lanes and walking lanes, and I constantly saw families either riding bikes or walking around together.  It was like a "perfect world."

German cars everywhere

Munich was also wicked cheap compared to Galway; although each use the Euro, Munich beat Galway's prices by at least 1.50.  So if I usually pay 2.50 EUR for a bag of pasta in Galway, I could buy the same amount for .79 EUR in Munich.

Oh, and there subway system was so easy to use.  Minus the fact the names were all 2495 letters long, as long as I knew the direction I was heading, I was fine.  And, I never paid for the subway.  Munich basically relies on the honor system, because there is no ticket booth or ticket checker.  I later found out that there are undercover police on the subways, that may ask people for tickets, and if you don't have one, you get a 50 EUR fine...luckily that never happened to us.

On a brighter note, we explored Munich City Center, and I found a Starbucks that FINALLY made me a good iced coffee.  And Lauren Brodeur if you happen to see this...it was even pumpkin flavored...

We stayed in a woman named Elenora's apartment, that I found online. We were worried how the whole thing would work out, but it was awesome!! She was so nice, and turns out she published a few books on body chemistry, and is actually kinda famous for it.  Everyday she bought us different breads, candy, coffee, spreads, and juice, and was constantly making sure we were all satisfied.  She must of spent 40 EUR on food for us, which was awesome because that meant I didn't have to spend much on food elsewhere.

On the days we didn't go to Oktoberfest, we explored the city.  Munich has a giant park, about twice the size of Central Park, and it was really pretty.  In the city center there was a giant outdoor mall type thing, and farther away from the actual center, a lot of random stores.  I must have seen 10 stores that literally had everything from flags, to shoes, to screwdrivers, to Q Tips, to silverware, and all really cheap, kinda strange.  If I could afford it, I would definitely go back, and will hopefully attend another Oktoberfest, because that definitely made the trip worthwhile.
